ANTM Ep 4 - Our Interview With This Week's Eliminated Model
This post contains spoilers.
Last night, Rhiyan Carreker was the most recent model sent home on America's Next Top Model. She talks with us about Rihanna, spiders, and her advice for all the dramatic girls left in the Top Model house.
1) If you could coin one ANTM-ism of your own (like Fierce, Smize, Booty-Tooch, Dreckitude, Pot Ledom, etc.), what would it be?
Hmm, that’s a good one. If I had to make up my own, it would have to be something iconic and memorable…I would say, “It’s not that deep,” because a lot of these girls were dramatic and always blew things out of proportion. It’s. Not. That. Deep. People will talk about you all your life, if you take it to heart, then you’re only building a barrier between you and your success. Listen, move on, and do you.
2) Which classic ANTM shoot would you love to have done?
Definitely the spider shoot! That would require me to get over a fear while looking fierce at the same time. What a shoot!
3) Who's your dream fashion client?
Rihanna. She embodies confidence, sexiness, classiness, and freedom of expression all in one. She’s definitely an icon.
4) What is one thing you learned about yourself during this process?
I’ve learned acceptance. I went into America’s Next Top Model not knowing what to expect, the world was so new to me. I learned not everyone is going to like you but I just told myself there’s nothing I can do about it so why waste energy on something I can’t change. Now, I’m 100% confident in myself and I know how far I’m going to go. The power of mind is a strong thing! Also, I learned to never hate on anyone’s success, because what you put out into the world is what you get back!
5) What's next for you?
I’m currently finishing my last semester of college and working on getting signed. I have a few agencies interested in meeting me so that’s great news! I also plan on walking in New York Fashion Week either this year or next. All in all I want to dominate the fashion industry, as a model and fashion designer! Stay tuned!
